Room Rental Rates
The following fees will be assessed for use of Memorial Union Rooms. For Holidays and periods of time when the Memorial Union Building is typically closed, additional fees will be charged based on the additional labor charges incurred.
Isle Royale Ballroom:
Ballroom A $250 per half-day (waived with $500 minimum catering)
Ballroom B $200 per half-day (waived with $500 minimum catering)
Entire Ballroom $450 per half-day (waived with $1000 minimum catering)
Keweenaw Commons:
Enclosed Sections (4, 5, & 6) Only $200 per half-day (waived with $500 minimum catering)
Entire Commons $400 per half-day (waived with $1000 minimum catering)
All other meeting rooms: $75 per half-day (waived with $200 minimum catering) (Rates double if using entire room without divider)
Special Setups all rooms: $30.00 per labor hour
For Holidays and periods of time when the Memorial Union Building is typically closed, additional fees will be charged based on the additional labor charges incurred.

University Functions
No room fee, audio-visual rentals, or minor set-up charges will be billed to registered student groups for use of Memorial Union meeting rooms including the Isle Royale Ballroom and the Keweenaw Commons unless:
  1. Revenues are being generated from the event (excluding fund-raising activities).

  2. The registered student group is coordinating the event for another organization where tuition, registration, or other fees are being charged.

Conference Services
In addition to catering services, the Memorial Union can offer the following amenities to enhance your conference activities:
Conference Package
Includes tablecloths for conference tables, skirting for registration, head and display tables, ice water service, notepads and pencils upon arrival, and mints/candy on seating tables.		 $3.50 per person
Ice Water Service for speakers and/or conference participants
Ice water carafes, glasses, and napkins provided		 $7.50 per set up
Table Cloths on Conference Tables
We have a variety of colors available		 $3.50 per cloth
Tablecloths and Skirting for registration, display, or head tables
Makes a nice presentation. A limited number of skirts are available		 $12.50 per table
On-call Conference Coordinator
We will provide you with a radio connection to a person from our catering staff who will be exclusively assigned to your event and on-call for any of your last-minute conference needs.		 $30.00 per hour
Staging Set-up
Staging is available for a speakers podium, performance platform, dais, or head table. American and Michigan flags are available		 $30.00 per labor hour
Special Services
The Memorial Union would be happy to arrange for the following special conference services:		 - as arranged -
  • Coat Check

  • Specialty Linens

  • Floral Arrangements, Centerpieces, and Buffet Decorations

  • Theme Decorations

  • Photo-copying and other office services
